How to Jump Your Battery if you’re Stranded

Have you ever been stranded because your car wouldn’t start only to realize you left a light on. Randall Gann brings you another Tech Tuesday tip to help you! Jump the battery!

Here’s How: Set the parking brake on your car and turn off all accessories. Connect the positive end of the jumper cables to your positive post. Connect the other positive end to the battery post on vehicle that is going to jump your car. Attach the negative end to the negative battery post on your car and the opposing negative end to the negative post on the good battery! Start the engine on the vehicle that has the good battery and let it run for a few minutes. After several minutes have passed, start your vehicle. Once your vehicle will start, remove the negative jumper cable from the discharged vehicle, then disconnect the the other negative end. Undo the positive cable from the good battery then undo your vehicle.
