Why are Modern Day Safety Features in Vehicles Needed?

Imagine this… It’s a sunny spring day, the grass is a vibrant green, the smell of fresh flowers and newly mowed grass lurk in the air, and you can here the laughter of children sweep across your neighborhood as they wait to catch the bus. It’s a Monday morning you cannot wait to get to work to pick up where you left off Friday. As you step out your door with your fresh cup of steaming hazelnut coffee in your hand, you gradually walk to your car to go on your 30 minute commute to work.

You get into your fuel efficient car, that has maybe 4 airbags and really that’s the only thing that there is to save your life, because when you purchased it 6 years ago you were just worried about gas. It never accured to you that safety features were that big of a priority!

As your driving on the busy morning highway during rush hour, you turn on the radio to see what the latest news is. You grab your warm coffee mug and take a drink, not relizing how hot it still was. Suddenly you start to pannick while the hot coffee is burning the fragile inside of your mouth. Not paying any attention to the road, putting your mug back into your cup holder. You look up and you are entering the other lane, but before you could quickly jolt your steering wheel back into your lane….. it was to late.

Just think if she would’ve had a vehicle with Blind Spot Monitoring or Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, or maybe even Side Curtain Airbags. There would have been something warning her about the accident that was getting ready to happen before her very own eyes, and would have saved her life.
