When you’re searching for a new pickup truck, Ford & Ram are sure to be prime suspects. Here are some similarities, differences, and random features to be considered between the 2015 Ford F-150 and the 2015 Ram 1500.
Both of these trucks have long, noteworthy family histories. The F-series trucks debuted in 1948.
Ram trucks became a contender in 1981.
Both of these trucks look a lot different in 2015. The 2015 Ford got a facelift from the previous year’s model, and has a sharp, edgy exterior, while the 2015 Ram retains it’s classically stunning shape.
A variety of powerful engine options are available in both lines. Ford’s Ecoboost offers 2 turbocharged V6s with slightly better fuel efficiency. Ram’s fuel efficient answer is the EcoDiesel V6 that puts up impressive fuel efficiency numbers for a full size truck! If your truck needs to be able to tow a serious load, each line offers optional rear axle ratios to support towing ability. The secret to the axle ratio is easy to remember – The larger the numerical value of the ratio, the more towing power the truck has. The downside to this is that it also lowers your fuel efficiency by around 1 mpg, as your engine revs higher in all situations.
The true differences in these 2 beastly trucks are found in the interiors! Ford offers more options on technological safety features including adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring system, and lane departure warning to name a few. Ram simply doesn’t have these features. Both offer the option of an easy to navigate touch screen media center, backup cameras, navigation, heated & cooled Leather seating and so much more.
Both the Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500 are powerful, capable, attractive trucks.
