Difference Between 4 High and 4 Low

I used to own a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe and I noticed there were 4 options; Auto 4WD, 2Hi, 4Hi, 4Lo. I always drove with it in 2WD high and occasionally used 4×4 high when the roads were covered with snow. For a long time I didn’t know the difference between 4×4 high and 4×4 low, and by how popular this question is it seems I was not the only one. 4×4 high is best used on snow and moderate off-road such as dirty roads and easy trails. It will give you better traction with reduced slipping of the wheels. When 4×4 low is selected the wheels create substantially more torque which in turn makes this option better for very rough terrain. If you have any questions regarding your 4×4 system, just give our awesome service department a call at 660-646-3455 and they will gladly help!
