Winter is coming, are you prepared?
We all know that All Wheel Drive (AWD) and Four Wheel Drive (4WD) are a good thing to have, especially during the winter time. But do you know what it really means to have AWD or 4WD? I’m here to give you a quick summary of what the differences are.
All Wheel Drive – a transmission system that always operates in four-wheel drive and does not alternate with two-wheel drive. In other words, it is a full time four wheel drive vehicle. AWD is made to conquer many different types of surfaces. This is why when you are planning to go off-roading an AWD vehicle is a must!
Four Wheel Drive – a transmission system that provides power directly to all four wheels of a vehicle. AKA Part-time system. 4WD vehicles are mostly used for off-roading and when snow and ice cover the ground.
